Galapagos – Yacht

For our Galapagos Yacht expedition, exploring this strictly protected marine reserve requires specialized local expertise and dedicated vessel operations. Newstate Adventures has partnered with Happy Gringo Travel, a premier Ecuador and Galapagos destination specialist with over 20 years of experience delivering authentic, small-group adventures.

Together, we’ve privately chartered the first-class motor yacht Galapagos Angel to provide our group with an intimate, seamless expedition across the archipelago. Known for their commitment to responsible tourism, conservation support, and exceptional local naturalist guides, Happy Gringo’s hands-on approach and values align perfectly with Newstate Adventures as we create an unforgettable journey together.

This trip is rated as moderately active. Travelers should be comfortable swimming, snorkeling and walking several miles a day, often on uneven surfaces, sand, or rocky terrain. Some experiences, such as optional hikes, climbing steps, or getting in and out of the zodiacs, require basic balance and mobility. Participants should expect and be prepared for a fair amount of physical activity throughout the journey.

All packages are individually priced, and the package stipulates if it is a solo or double occupancy. Single Supplement is not offered on this trip given the limited cabins aboard the vessel.* If you are traveling with a partner, friend or family member in the same room and are booking together, please select two of the same package. If you are traveling with a friend, but booking separately, please indicate in the check out form who your travel companion will be. You will be able to indicate bed configuration (two Twins or one shared King/Queen) at the time of booking.

*We are unable to pair solo travelers.

Due to a limited number of cabins onboard, if traveling solo you must be paired with another traveler. There will not be a single supplement option for the yacht. Because of the intimate nature of this trip, we are unable to formally pair travelers up ourselves, so you’ll need to connect beforehand and list your travel buddy directly on your booking.

You can secure your spot on the on the Galapagos Yacht Expedition with a 45% deposit, and make interest-free payments at any time of any amount prior to June 1, 2027, when final payments are due.

We welcome payments for your trip either via ACH (electronic payments from a USA bank account) or all major Credit Cards.

To help us keep trip costs more affordable for you, surcharges for payments are not included in the trip package price, and you are encouraged to select the payment method that suits your needs. For example, if you receive international travel coverage insurance for purchasing with a specific credit card, then booking with a credit card may be the best option for you.

There is no surcharge for ACH electronic payments, while Credit Cards will add 2.9% to each transaction/automatic payment (3.9% for AMEX). All payments must be made through the WeTravel platform. We do not accept checks or alternative methods of payment.

Securing "cancel for any reason" travel insurance at the time of booking is strongly recommended for protection against unforeseen cancellations or accidents. If paying for your trip with a credit card (see payments payments above), check for coverage benefits that may apply for international travel.

For travelers who reside within the European Union, Switzerland or USA the requirement to purchase travel insurance cannot be compulsory due to local regulations.

However, the purchase of travel insurance is still highly recommended, and travelers from these regions who decline travel insurance when travelling outside of their home region must sign a Travel Insurance Waiver Form at the Group Meeting (on day 1 of trip), recognizing personal responsibility for emergency medical and repatriation costs should they arise.

Due to the nature of a privately charted expedition on the Galapagos Angel, our cancellation and payment terms differ from our standard land journeys:

• Deposit: Once the yacht charter is officially confirmed, your initial deposit becomes 100% non-refundable.
• Final Balance: The remaining balance for your trip is due in full by June 1.
• Full Payment Non-Refundable: After June 1, all payments made toward the entire trip cost become 100% non-refundable.
• Booking Transfers: While payments are non-refundable, bookings are fully transferable to another eligible traveler up until June 30.
• No-Shows: No-shows will be treated as cancellations and are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

Travel Insurance: Because of the strict financial commitments required for private yacht charters, we HIGHLY recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance with "Cancel For Any Reason" (CFAR) coverage immediately upon booking to protect your investment.

During expedition-style trips, excursions to the shore typically begin with a short ride on a small motorized boat (often called a Zodiac or panga) from the main ship. Depending on the terrain of the destination, you will experience either a "wet" or "dry" landing.

• Wet Landing: The small boat will pull up to a beach, and you will swing your legs over the side and step directly into shallow water (usually ankle to knee-deep) before walking onto the shore.
  • What to wear: You will need sandals, water shoes, or waterproof boots (depending on the climate), and you should wear shorts or pants that can be easily rolled up.
• Dry Landing: The boat will pull up alongside a dock, a concrete pier, or a natural rocky outcropping. You will step directly from the boat onto dry land, often with a steadying hand from the crew.
  • What to wear: You can wear your regular walking shoes or hiking boots, as your feet will not be submerged.
